Casa del Playa is located on the spectacular Baja penisula. This 1000 mile long desert seperates the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. The East Cape is located between the Sierra la Laguna Mountains and the Sea of Cortez near the Tropic of Cancer. The east cape climate is both arid and tropical . The Sierra la Laguna Mountains reach their greatest elevation of 7000 feet in the region of Miraflores, where natural hot springs can be found. The flora and fauna of the region is rich and includes a wide variety of indigenous cactus, desert trees and shrubs blooming throughout the year. The Sea of Cortez (sometimes called the Gulf of California) is rich in marine life and supports 800 varieties of fish, seven varieties of whales. dolphins, manta rays, sea lions and sea turtles, to name a few.

Tourism is the largest industry in the East Cape region. In Los Barrillas, three miles north of Spa Buena Vista, you will find everything you need for your holiday. The closest ATM is located in Los Barrilles, US dollars are used as readily as Mexican pesos. Filtered water is the norm at restuarants.
